Audi Change Info Panel Due to Be Empty

Commuter information display gone blank – 26-08-2018,10:01 AM As per title really. The DIS has gone completely bare out of the blue. I've searched the cyberspace but information technology doesn't seem to be that common. I've spoken to a cluster repair firm who tell me the only way to get most it is to go the part no. from the back of the cluster, buy a similar 1, refit and recode. I'd be looking at about �600. Anyone with whatsoever ideas, I haven't got a vag scan tool, then I guess that would be my beginning port of phone call?

Could it be the lcd display that has failed of a sudden?

Plant a couple of places that repair these type of problems for �200ish lifetime warranty which is expert news, bad news is that it needs to be sent away which means I'chiliad off route for three-4days. The other option is a 2nd hand lcd for �150 ish with only a years warranty but it'due south an hour away and a couple of hours to fit. Bugger! Determination time.

you would never need similar "lifetime" warranty" and so a fleck a empty adv
...check ebay i saw way cheaper clusters then 150....lcd swap is piece of cake, forepart embrace off and iii screws for lcd! If it'due south non that hard I might give it a fustigate. I also only realised that I don't become the audible pings, for example if I Become over the speed limit that I gear up from the primary screen. Would this yet point to a faulty lcd?

No,there is plug&play speaker inside likewise(but i am not certain is mmi speedlimit using cluster speaker or soundsystem), but if no beep lights on etc, and so modest speaker is broken, sometimes cleaning speaker and contacts may likewise aid... If my memory correct speaker is other side of the needles, so no need to remove needles and gauges!

I oasis't e'er endemic an A4 B8, only on one of my previous A6s (I think it was a C5) there was a button on the lesser of the wiper stem that turned the DIS off and on. Before you become ripping out your dash cluster, it's worth checking to see if your A4 has a like button? Probably a complete red herring, but it will only toke you a moment to check, and if you're lucky it might salve you a lot of bother

Would this propose then that there is another underlying trouble somewhere which has caused both speaker and lcd to fail?
